Bold Colors with Denim

“Bright colors make you smile- and who doesn’t want to smile a little more these days?”

A denim jacket is never a bad idea, especially when you pair it with something bold and bright.  I love the color of this Green dress…it is a perfect summer color!  The outfit is finished off with the great denim shoes I highlighted in my last post, and I love the effect.

I have been surprised to see that many people stick with traditional colors when styling with denim so I wanted to show you it’s OK to be a little “out there”…it’s OK to just be bold!

The great thing about a dress like this is that it is just like wearing an over sized T-shirt – it is just that comfortable because it is made of the same fabric as T-shirts.  It is a great fabric for warmer days because it is not prone to getting really wrinkled from sitting too much.

There are so many different colors that work in the spring/summer because it’s easier to get away with brighter during those seasons.  I love it – because it gives me the opportunity to try new things, wear outfits that really stand out and just basically explore my own unique take on style.

Some colors look better on me than others, and that is the same with everyone…so be careful as you explore new colors and patterns that they work with your skin tone and coloring.  A good indicator is to check yourself in the mirror and see if your skin looks bright or dull.
