A Belted Jacket

Fall is the best time of year to layer and have fun with it. It’s not too cold that you have to be wearing your big winter coats, but it is definitely cool enough that you are going to want to consider another jacket, sweater or cardigan to add that extra warmth.

A belted jacket is just one jacket that can look amazing with just about any style of outfit. I am wearing mine with a fitting mid-calf straight dress, but I love this look also with business pants, jeans and even shorter A line skirts. Belted jackets work really well if you have a smaller waist, however, if you don’t there are still ways you can get around this. The one I am wearing is a prime example – the belt is a little wider and it looks great when you don’t cinch it too tight.

The accessories are kept simple with a few gold chains, and then the ankle booties with open toes are a great finishing touch. These booties obviously don’t work as well in the Winter unless there is no snow on the ground or you wear thicker opaque tights with them.

There are some great places to find jackets like the one I am showing here – H&M has some great jackets that won’t break your bank, Nordstrom Rack is always fun to “explore”, and one of the things I always do is check local stores (such as Macy’s) for upcoming sales because you can snag some great deals there too!

Have fun with your layering in the Fall and that doesn’t just apply to business wear – Casual wear can sometimes be even more fun to experiment and layer with!
