“If you wear things you adore, you just look better!”

Tunics are a great asset to anyone’s wardrobe because they can hide problem tummy or hip areas, or they can just look amazing with tighter pants and heels.

I found this great tunic recently at Nordstrom Rack and loved the color and the cut of it.  Because the front of it is looser and gathered below the bust line, it can be disguise any problems you may be conscious of around your mid section.  I paired it with some simple tight Black pants, a great statement necklace and some cool dangly earrings.  The shoes are great with the laces and add another focal point to the outfit.

Here are some great tips for wearing a Tunic:

If you have a pear shaped body, you should choose a tunic that has side slits so it doesn’t cling to your hips and make them look larger.

If you are more apple shaped and larger on top, steer away from tunics that are tight around the bust line, and definitely don’t add a necklace that is too chunky or large.

If you have an hourglass figure, you are going to look better if the tunic is a little more form fitting.  If you don’t like it too tight, just make sure that it is not too big for you.

For a fuller figure, you need to make sure that you create a balance.  Highlight areas like your neck and wrists so they are visible and draw attention to them.  You don’t want something too tight nor do you want it too loose and baggy.

If you are petite, the key here is to make sure that the tunic is not too long for you. If it’s too long, it’s going to look more like a dress and not quite right.

Finally, you can add a belt with a tunic, however, if you do that you don’t want to wear a necklace as well.

Good luck!
