“There is nothing interesting about looking perfect. You want what you’re wearing to say something about who YOU ARE!”
If you’re looking for an easy “go to” Fall outfit, I have just the thing…do you own a cardigan of some kind? If not, don’t worry..I have linked mine along with some others that are fabulous at the end of this post…
The outfit I am highlighting in today’s post is probably one of the easiest that you can recreate. All I did was wear my trusted Albion Fit black jumpsuit, add the cardigan and of course I had to add a pop of sass with the leopard shoes.
I was looking for a casual look, but still wanted to look put together…building an outfit around one single piece is really easy and fun to do. For this outfit, I had decided I wanted to wear the long cardigan because the weather in the mornings here in Utah is now starting to be a little cooler, and the temperatures are definitely not creeping up to where they have been…so layers are a must!
I don’t very often just pull my hair back into a ponytail, but today, with the style of the outfit, I thought it looked great, simple and not too polished. I didn’t want to have a hair style that was too “done” when I was going for a more casual look.
I could have created a similar look of outfit by using colors other than Black, such as Tan, Cream or Winter White, Brown, or even Navy. Because I wanted the Cardigan to stand out I chose to wear the same color throughout my entire outfit, but that doesn’t have to be the case if you are doing it. Here are some examples:
The shoes can always completely change the look of an outfit – by wearing leopard it definitely was sassy, but it could have also been toned down by wearing a more neutral pair of shoes or boots.
I could have worn a different colored top and pants – such as Black pants and Beige top, etc – instead of a jumpsuit.
I could have added a bold colored scarf to really spice up the outfit.
Earrings and accessories have been so fun for me lately – by wearing these tassel earrings they are more bold than some people like…the best thing is, that changing the accessories is one of the easiest things to change to affect an outfit!
Take a look at things you already have in your closet and see if you can create this for yourself. Or, go and buy yourself a wonderful Cardigan to use like this – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
