Dressing for church today I didn’t get up as early as I would have liked – thank goodness I had already picked out what I wanted to wear. I don’t know about you, but getting ready on a Sunday morning just seems to take longer than it does on other days, and it certainly takes longer than it should. I feel like I have to negotiate with the boys about getting themselves ready, very often they are “not feeling well” or just don’t move fast enough for us to be to church on time. It’s hard to maintain a good, non-angry attitude with all the commotion sometimes. With that being said, always, by the time church is over, I am glad that I took just a little time to do things for others, and not just focusing on myself and my needs.
Today I threw together Black dress, my great Tiger shoes that my boys bought me, and then added some antique gold accent jewelry. I pulled my hair back into a bun with some loose tendrils and called it good…
Sometimes, those days when you don’t get to spend as much time as you would like getting ready are the best days. I do love spending time with my family, and even with the flighting that invariably happens at some point during the day, I know that we still all love each other regardless…
I try not to look at my family and compare it to other families, but to rather just enjoy who we all are and surrender to the fact that we are not going to be perfect, so we can just enjoy what we have.
I hope you have a blessed Sunday and enjoy it no matter what you are doing.
