For today’s Sunday Best, I found a great A-line pleated skirt in Moss green. I had seen some of these skirts around and had been looking for one, so when I went into Nordstrom and found this color (which is one of my favorites) I had to snag it. I have talked about how flattering A-line skirts can be because they are looser on the hips and not form fitting, well, a pleated A-line skirt is even more flattering. The pleats and cut of the skirt can hide a lot of problem areas, yet still look fabulous.
I chose to pair mine with a cute fitted cream cropped top, and a pair of Animal print strappy pumps. The great thing about these kinds of skirts is that they look good with many different styles of shoes, such as: booties, pumps, strappy sandals, or knee high boots.
Like I mentioned I have seen these skirts in quite a few stores, and they are not all the same length. When you are considering the length to buy for your yourself, make sure you try them on because for someone a midi skirt may be more flattering while for others a knee length or mini may work better. I have also seen pleated skirts that are not as A-line or cut like this one, that hang a little closer to the body, make sure you know which one you like the most and get some feedback from a friend. I have even seen faux and Leather pleated skirts, which are another look I really like.
You can dress this style of skirt up or down. I wore mine for church so I wanted a more feminine look, but it was a chilly morning so I threw on my Tan Leather jacket. I have seen them with blazers, denim jackets, sweaters, loose T shirts and many other ways, so I would recommend experimenting and finding a great look for what you are going to be doing and who you are going to be seeing. If you have a business meeting you probably want to look a little more professional and wear a blazer or a blouse, whereas if you are just going out to dinner or a movie, you could add some booties and a Denim or Biker Jacket.
