“Blowing out someone else’s candle doesn’t make yours burn brighter!”

Have you ever wondered how it would be to actually pull up to work or an appointment during the summer months without having your skirt or pants wrinkled because of the heat of your car?

Summer is my favorite season but there are definitely frustrations when it comes to dressing appropriately for business without looking disheveled.  I very often have lunch appointments sitting outside on the patio, and by the time that lunch is over, my clothes are definitely wrinkled and not looking their best.

I have a few things that help me stay looking polished even during the hot weather, so I don’t have to forego my style:

  1. Always carry a small bottle of Downey Wrinkle Release for those days when there is nothing you can do about sitting in your car while you are driving around, or just as a refresher to your outfit before you walk through the door.
  2. On those especially hot days try to wear fabrics that don’t wrinkle, or at least don’t look wrinkled when you wear them.  Polyester is a great fabric that is lightweight and doesn’t look wrinkled even if you get hot and sweat a little!
  3. Wear patterns, that way if you do sweat or if your outfit does have wrinkles, it is not as visible.
  4. Always carry a heavy-duty deodorant and body spray with you to combat the sweat and eliminate any odors.

Most importantly, as you are getting ready, consider the weather for the day and make sure that you dress appropriately.  If I know I am going to have to walk more than usual, I tend to wear pants with lower heel shoes, and if it is going to be really humid, I try to steer clear of fabrics that will show off damp areas if I am sitting around.  There is nothing you can really do about a little sweat, but you can certainly mask it and most definitely stop it from causing unpleasant odors.  There is nothing worse than meeting someone and seeing sweat stains in their armpits or noticing that they smell bad.

Above are some styles that I have worn on hot summer days, perhaps they will give you some style inspiration too!
