Clearing the Air

“The best style in Winter is Warmth!”

Yesterday was a day of New Years commitments and decisions – we even had our kids write down what they want to accomplish for 2017.  It was a grey, foggy, overcast and the inversion even appeared early in Salt Lake.  It was not a very pretty day at first glance, but I think it was a start of something big.

Last night a storm came in and cleared from the air all the gunk and nasty pollution, and this morning when I woke up to go work out the snowstorm had brought with it a beautiful day with clear blue skies.  It was almost as if the commitments and resolutions made yesterday were solidified by blowing away the old, crappy choices we had been living.

In honor of the beautiful, snowy day, I wanted to show a great casual outfit with some amazing Sorel boots that are perfect for snowy, slippery days.  I much prefer to wear feminine shoes and heels, but there are definitely days when they just don’t work!  Today is one of those days…

I will be going back to work tomorrow so we had just a few errands to run (still exchanging some Christmas gifts, etc.), and we are now snuggled up by the fire watching Football and Basketball.

I love finding outfits that even though they are casual, they are still stylish.  I definitely like to dress up but I am also learning that dressing down doesn’t mean you can’t look great.  In fact, there are so many casual styles around that look amazing that you don’t ever really need to look like you are not put together.  Of course, when I am home just hanging out, I do pull out some sweats or I have also been known to spend the evening in my jammies…
