How to wear Fishnets

“If I had a snapshot of my inner child, I am most certain that she would be wearing Fishnets!”

I have always been a fan of great fishnet stockings!  I have heard many people mention that their perception of fishnets is something a little less than desirable.  I think its a misconception, and something that you can change – that is of course if you are open to wearing Fishnets…

Here are some tips for wearing Fishnets and still looking elegant:

1. Make sure you are wearing them with the right clothing!  If you pair them with a really short skirt, they suggest something a little more provocative.

2. Keep the rest of your outfit simple – steer away from busy patterns or fabrics.  Fishnets have the ability to make the ordinary look elegant.

3. There are many kinds of fishnets, I always think it looks better when you pick a pair that has a finer mesh…

4. Stick with neutral colors of fishnets (specifically black, brown or nude), especially if you are wearing them during the day.

5. Make sure you wear closed toe shoes.

Fishnets add a hint of sexiness, and I believe that you can look classy, elegant and sexy at the same time if you put together the right combination.  I paired my fishnets with a great pair of shoes, and a plain black dress.
