Starting today’s post off with a quote that caused pause for thought – everyone has challenges, it’s how you handle them that determines who you are 🙂
You can’t go wrong with earth tones and neutrals matched together. The simple outfit that I am showcasing today includes Khaki, Nude and Black. It’s simple, yet striking.
The neckline of the blouse allowed me to add a simple choker that I recently purchased from an African Boutique, and the earrings are drop earrings with a green tassel.
I love the effect that the Nude shoes have on this outfit – I think very often it’s all to comfortable to just default to wearing Black shoes when we have so many other options. Nude adds another dimension to this simple outfit. I added a light weight jacket for the cooler morning, and I found that I liked the way that it looked so I kept it on for most of the day…paired with the skirt with Leather accents, the whole effect is quite nice.
I have beach waves in my hair today that I haven’t worn for a while, and I had forgotten how feminine they make me feel. The feeling of femininity and confidence started before I walked out the door, and continued for the rest of the day!
Don’t forget when you are putting together any outfit, that your hair and makeup are just as important as the clothes that you wear. I don’t wash my hair every day – it dries out my hair too much, so I wash it every other day. I also use very little hairspray hardly, and try to use oils on my hair to keep the moisture in as much as possible. I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but when I do, I like to wear more greens, browns, and dark reds…eyeliner is always a must for me, it doesn’t have to be really heavy but I prefer how my eyes look when I have eyeliner on.
