“There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”

I have to admit that I was the brunt of some jokes from my kids…they thought it was funny that I had to take special care to look good just for a hike!  I told them that it wasn’t just for the hike, it was for me – because I like to feel good, and paying attention to how I look certainly affects how I feel!

We didn’t have the chance to hike too far because there was actually quite a lot of snow the higher up the mountain we hiked, and it was starting to melt so it was getting slushy.  Nevertheless, we enjoyed being out in Nature and enjoying the breathtaking scenery.  I have seen lots of Social Media posts showing the beauty of leaves changing, so when Brandon suggested a quick afternoon drive up the mountain and hike, I jumped at the chance.  One of the perks most definitely was that we were all unplugged and were forced to talk and laugh together – sometimes it’s hard to get the boys to not be on their phones, so when we have the chance it’s fun to take them where it’s not even possible!

The pictures were taken up Little Cottonwood Canyon just below Snowbird Ski Resort, and the scenery did not disappoint.

In the valley it had started to warm up after the cold front had passed, but up at this high an elevation I knew that I would need to wear something a little warm.  I threw on my great Northface Vest and a Nike layer underneath.  It may not be important to everyone to consider how they look when they are working out or hiking, but to me, it is just something that I like to do.  It doesn’t mean that you have to do the same thing, but if you do, here are some great clothes for you to pick from.

Vest:  Northface  (buy here)     White Layer Top:  Nike (buy here)       Workout Pants:  Reebok (buy here)     Sneakers:  Nike Roshe Run (buy here)     Shades:  Michael Kors (buy here)
