If you’re looking for an easy “go to” Fall outfit, I have just the thing…I am sure that most of you own a vest (or waistcoat) of some kind. If the answer is yes, then this post is just for you!
The outfit I am highlighting in today’s post is probably one of the easiest that you can recreate. All I did was pair a Black shirt, with Black pants, Black booties and a Khaki vest. I was looking for a really casual Friday look, but wanted to make it appropriate for work. So, I dug through my closet, found a pair of Black pants I’ve had for a while that are form fitting and have Leather accents, pulled out a Black loose fitting top, and threw on a cute pair of Black Booties. The Vest was something I added not because it was cold, but rather because it was what I started out with wanting to wear. So, essentially what I did was build my outfit around this Vest.
I don’t very often just pull my hair back into a ponytail, but today, with the style of the outfit, I thought it looked great, simple and not too polished. I didn’t want to have a hair style that was too “done” when I was going for a more casual look.
I could have created a similar look of outfit by using colors other than Black, such as Tan, Cream or Winter White, Brown, or even Navy. Because I wanted the Vest to stand out I chose to wear the same color throughout my entire outfit, but that doesn’t have to be the case if you are doing it. Here are some examples:
I could have worn Tan, Brown, or a patterned bootie or shoe.
I could have worn a different colored top from the pants – such as Black pants and Beige top, etc.
I could have added a scarf with animal print to really spice up the outfit.
I could have worn a sweater if the weather was colder and worn under the Vest to act like a jacket.
Take a look at things you already have in your closet and see if you can create this for yourself. Or, go and buy yourself a wonderful Vest to use like this – I promise you won’t be disappointed.
