I think that every one of us has had days where we have felt that it seems like no matter what we do, we aren’t enough! Strong enough, successful enough, rich enough, confident enough, fit enough or even happy enough. No matter what it is that is leading you to believe these things, there are certainly steps you can take to help you…
I have found that I am a Woman of action – I feel much better when I am doing things, and very often those things lead me to helping others. I force myself into action and take steps to remove myself from anything that is causing any negative or “less than” thoughts.
So, how does what you wear help you with these thoughts? Did any of you ever play dress up when you were a kid? Did you feel better when you were dressing up to look like someone else, or be silly? I know I certainly loved trying on clothes and being outlandish. So, with that being said, how can you use clothes to make you feel happier and confident? If you haven’t tried wearing different clothes to see if they evoke different feelings in you, now’w the time to play dress up again 🙂
I look at the clothes I wear as a way to say who I am without having to speak. They allow me to assert myself and make a statement, so I try to make sure that the statement I make is a positive one!
There are some days when you just have to wear a business suit…and on those days, you want it to be one that stands out and isn’t just your typical plain suit. Whenever I have a big pitch, I have an important business meeting, or I just want to look like I really “mean business,” I wear a business suit. I like the ones that give you the option of wearing either pants or a skirt with a jacket, because there are some times that one or the other is more what you are feeling for that day.
Today’s post shows a great suit I have that is just a little unique – it’s not your typical fitted jacket, it has a little more detail with pockets and is a little reminiscent of a “safari style” suit. I paired with a plain black V-neck chiffon top along with some multi colored metal jewelry. My hair is pulled back into a simple chignon and finishes off the professional look.
Every Woman should have at least one business suit in her closet (a jacket with either pants or a skirt), that you can pull out for important business occasions, or to feel a little more powerful. I have found that when I wear my business suit, I feel a little like I am wearing armor and I am invincible (I know, a little cliche, but it does make me feel strong!)
