Headed to church today I wanted to make the most of the amazingly beautiful warm weather we are having right now. During the day it has been reaching around 70 degrees and sometimes a little higher, so it is perfect to wear a short-sleeved dress and of course NO tights. I do love wearing dresses and skirts with bare legs (when it’s warm enough to do it), it just feels so natural and free to me.
This loose fitting, belted Olive green dress is really comfortable and simple, so to add a little funk I paired it with these amazing Tan fringe pumps – I loved the combo.
Shoes are very often the last thing that people consider, but I think they are the most important. I know I have talked about it before, but more often than not when I am planning on putting together an outfit (especially one for a special occasion) I usually start with the shoes. Planning outfits for special occasions will require more effort and care to be taken in choosing the shoes – you honestly don’t want to pick out a pair of shoes that you can’t wear the whole event or that make you miserable while you are wearing them…especially if its for a wedding, special party or event.
Having a great pair of shoes and building your outfit around the shoes may feel a little awkward if you’re not used to it. It isn’t the only way you can plan your outfit, you can obviously start with a dress or some other piece of your outfit and build on that. If that is the direction you choose to go, I would recommend not neglecting the shoes…pick out your dress and then spend some time picking out the right shoes – it doesn’t necessarily mean you have to buy new ones, but do make sure that they work for the outfit! Meaning, make sure they fit the criteria that make them the right shoes:
If you follow these simple rules for finding the right shoes, your outfits will stand out and you will feel much more comfortable and confident.
