What do you notice when you look at someone else and what they are wearing? I can tell you that the answer is going to be different depending on who you ask…
I always notice the shoes, but I also look at the whole ensemble. Many of you may look past a lot of things and notice the colors, or it could be the accessories, and so on and so on!
My point is that when you are putting yourself together, you need to pay attention to all the details. Something as simple as the right belt, necklace, scarf or shoes can make or break an outfit. I don’t always wear bangles or bracelets (especially when I know I will be working on the computer for long periods during the day because they just get in the way), but for a special occasion or an important meeting, I always make sure that I plan my WHOLE outfit.
Some of the pictures today show outfits where attention has been paid to all the details. The Black pants with simple White T shirt looks more polished because of the belt, necklace and statement shoes. The Black Leather skirt paired with the pattern Blouse, mirrored sunglasses, Pearl bracelet and matching earrings – small details, but effective. Finally the Green Leather skirt with the Silver Top and matching Silver shoes…even the Watch is Grey!
The point here is to show you that as you are putting together an outfit, if you really want it to stand out, you might want to pay attention to everything. Yes, I know not everyone will notice all things, but, what if the person you are meeting for the first time is one of the people like me that notices the whole outfit? It doesn’t mean that you look bad if you don’t pay attention to every last detail, what it means to me is that I feel more confident in myself if I do. As we all know, people are drawn to confidence, so if you really want to make a lasting impression, make sure feel good about yourself.
