Since I am currently sitting at a baseball game, and the extent of my style repertoire includes jeans, sweats, shorts and T-shirts, I wanted to use something a little more feminine and classic from a shoot a couple of weeks ago. It’s not that I don’t think sweats and jeans can look great, it’s just that my photography skills, lighting and editing skills are still a work in progress 🙂
It’s so funny, I seem to always get a lot more work done when I am dressed for it. When I am dressed down or casual I really have to put my writing hat on for when I need to write content for my blog. Obviously I think it’s a case of mind over matter, but nevertheless, I do prefer my life to have order and structure. I am learning how to do that while I am traveling so that I can plan more trips and still be able to work and write my blog.
Do you have certain things that make you more productive than others? A lot of sports players have “lucky” things that they either wear or carry with them when they are playing…I don’t have something specific like that, but, I definitely like to make sure I am pulled together in such a way that I could meet with a potential client, so that I look professional and classy and most importantly that I am looking good enough to make a great first impression!
I posted this outfit last week, but I thought it deserved a second look. I especially loved the pastel colors because they are so delicate and feminine and bring out the color of my eyes. I am usually more drawn to bold colors, but that doesn’t mean that every once in a while I don’t like to branch out and try new colors and patterns.
Having colors and styles that are your favorite is not a bad thing, so long as it doesn’t stop you from trying new things. It is definitely easier to put together an outfit using your “favorite” colors or styles, so what is it that attracts you to something new? What is it that convinces you that you should try something new? Do trends and new fashions make it appealing enough for you to be daring, does your spouse encourage you to try different things, or do you see people you know wearing a color or something and think “I could pull that off”? For me, I do like to check out current trends and styles, and I am watching to see what others are wearing…but that’s not it. When I am shopping (either in a store or online) there are some things that just seem to speak to me! It’s as if I can see myself wearing them, and then I think about how I can put an outfit together to make it look just a little different.
I would love to hear what attracts you to certain things – drop me an email…it really helps me to create new posts that appeal to you!
