Black has always been the easiest color to wear, because it pretty much works with any other color – this is not news to anyone. But, did you know that you can pretty much do the same things with Grey as you can with Black. I love that Grey is just a little softer than Black but yet it is just as versatile.
The outfit in today’s post is one that shows how easy Grey is to work with. I wear Red and Black a lot, but if you add in Grey to your Red and Black it is just as effective. This long Vest Cardigan is a new favorite of mine because it is easy to just throw over a relatively simple outfit and it adds another dimension. I love wearing longer cardigans over pants or a pencil skirt that is shorter than the cardigan. I think it looks classy and what I like most about it is that I don’t see everyone doing it (which is always great for me because I like to be different).
If you are someone that typical sticks to Black, I think you could experiment by adding in some Grey and you will be surprised at how versatile a color it is and what great new looks you can create.
Here are some other ideas for adding Grey to your outfits:
Wear Black pants and top and add a long Grey cardigan (like the one in this post)
Wear a Black skirt and top and add some Grey patterned tights or fishnet style tights
Wear a completely Black outfit and add a Grey scarf or some Grey tweed shoes or booties
Wear Black bottoms (skirt or pants) and wear a dark Grey Blouse, sweater or top to “lighten” the outfit just a little
The examples are nothing groundbreaking, but they are food for thought. I was talking about Grey but you could substitute just about any other color and add even more spice to your outfits!
