On this beautiful snowy Sunday I am feeling extremely grateful for so many things! The amazing view from our house in Midway, Utah where I got to spend some time this weekend, the opportunity to put my feet up by a warm fire and watch football and most importantly the opportunity I have had to spend time with my boys.
Our lives are very often busy, filled with work, chores, sports, church responsibilities and other commitments that sometimes keep us running at such a pace that we don’t take the time to stop and contemplate…
I had the opportunity to make a flower bouquet for my 15 year old for his date to the Dance he went to last night, help my 9 year old make a “pie” that he had seen a video for on youtube yesterday, take my 12 year old to the NBA basketball game last night, and help my oldest dig out his car from the snow so he could get to work on time…
Sometimes I think that I don’t have time for myself, but honestly this weekend I have found to be busy is also very rewarding and I felt so much love as I was serving and helping my boys. I have found that the more I can do to help others (and not just my family) the happier and more appreciative it makes me feel for what I have.
Brandon was out of town on business so unfortunately our family wasn’t complete, but I look forward to some family time tonight after I pick him up from the Airport.
I have realized even more recently that even though I face challenges in my life, I truly am blessed to have the family I have, and appreciate the love we share. Because there are 5 boys/men in our house (and even our dog is a male), I am definitely outnumbered and sometimes there is just a little too much wrestling, shouting, ball playing and boisterous activity, but I think there is a reason I have all boys in my life…even though it can be a little much sometimes, with boys their mama’s are always important and I LOVE that!!
As I get ready for the week ahead of me, I have found that counting my blessings and feeling gratitude always help me face whatever the week has in store for me.
Have a blessed Sunday.
