“We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun.”
I feel so blessed to have been able to spend quality time on vacation with my family…
Although it has been hard coming back to the cold here in Utah, I can honestly say that it was one of my favorite vacations. All the fun excursions – to the Mayan ruins at Tulum, snorkeling in Cenotes and to watch Turtles, zip-lining as well as exploring the southern side of Cozumel in the most ridiculous chevy convertible I have ever seen.
Here are just a couple of snippets of the trip – because there were too many to share.
I really like taking vacation between Christmas and New Year because it is such a hard time of year, it truly helped me relax and ease all the pressure that it takes to get ready for a great Christmas.
One of my biggest take-aways from this trip, apart from the fun, is that you actually don’t need to overpack to have a GREAT vacation. One of my Christmas gifts was a personalized Tumi carry on suitcase and carry on bag. I actually managed to pack for the entire week in just that suitcase and carry on bag – and I really didn’t feel like I didn’t have enough clothes. I especially liked it because we didn’t have to sit around and wait at the baggage carousel and worry about bags getting lost.
For anyone that knows me, this in itself is a huge feat. I think in the past I could probably have filled up a suitcase this size with just my shoes for a trip like this…
