“If I ever let my head down, it will be just to admire my shoes.”
Today I wanted to talk about how you can mix things up…
I remember there was a time when you would buy shoes and purse and they would have to match. Well, I’m here to tell you that is no longer the case…
I wanted to show you that you can use a purse that is a contrast to your shoes and in fact, wearing shoes that are not the same color as the rest of your outfit can actually be a good thing!
I like to wear a bright colored or contrasting pair of shoes to add a little spice to my outfit.
In this post, I am wearing white shoes to add depth to the black and silver outfit, along with a wine colored purse. This purse looks great with another post I did where it was paired with leopard print shoes.
The key here is to be bold and not be afraid to try new things…

When I go shopping, I usually do it in pieces. What I mean by that is, if I see an item of clothing or accessory that just catches my eye and I feel shows my personality, I have to buy it. Once I have that I either search in my closet for things that would accentuate that piece or I continue shopping for something that would finish off the whole look. I do like to wear items of clothing in different combinations, so when I buy pieces of clothing, I always make sure that I have multiple things that will work well with that piece – that way it appears like a whole new look every time!
For example, I have worn the Leopard Print opaque tights with a black pencil skirt and black slim fitting sweater and black stiletto heels – so that the tights become the main focus and spice up the plain black.
I especially love the colors and combination of the outfit I am showing today. The tights add a little funk and the jacket makes the whole outfit just a little more edgy and cool.

“Fashion says ME TOO, Style says ONLY ME.”
It is a Snow Day here in Utah, and I am bundled up inside waiting for the snow storm to pass…
The look for today is the perfect outfit for cold, dry day (definitely not something I would wear today).
But I wanted to show how to put together a combination that has a few different elements: Fur, Leopard Print, and fun booties.
The fur vest completely changes the look of the whole outfit, and would be easy to recreate. There are lots of stores selling fur jackets, cardigans, shawls and vests so you can go find the perfect one for you.
Adding fur to any outfit is a great look for the holidays, and I always like to add that little extra like I did here with the Fur Print.

Dressing up on a Sunday for Church is something that has been traditionally viewed as being conservative or boring.
I love putting together outfit combinations that are not your traditional conservative style, but they are still modest.
I love this faux suede wrap skirt because it is fun…I even had some fun twirling around to show how full it is. The sweater is perfect for a colder day and the leather collar accent adds some class. While I love the skirt and sweater, the combination is finished off best with this pair of shoes that draw your attention.
The first thing you need to do when dressing in your Sunday best, is dispel the belief that modest needs to be conservative or boring. Add a little spice to your Sunday best and pick out an outfit that is finished off with a pair of shoes that can add that missing piece to any outfit…

“Elegance is not about being noticed, it is about being remembered”
I am in love with the full skirts that are popular right now. I especially love this one because of the bright colors and flowers.
Because the skirt is a statement in itself, pairing it with a simple black top and black leather detail jacket is easy – the pearls are just icing on the cake.
If you are a Woman that is drawn towards a more conservative style, then you may tend to dress a bit safe and perhaps look a little plain. That style can become rather predictable and boring or just basic. An outfit like this one is not too extreme but will also give you an opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone.
Try selecting pieces in a different color than a neutral – for example, if you like ballet flats see if you can try a new pair with in a bold color; or look for flats with gold metal hardware. You can use this concept when selecting any item. Assess your coloring and experiment with YOUR best colors – choose those colors that best compliment your hair and skin tones.
Classy style is something every woman can have, but remember to keep it individual to you. Don’t follow the trends, but rather find the colors, styles, patterns and accessories that best compliment you and your unique style.

“Its a Man’s job to respect Women, but it’s a Woman’s job to give him something to respect.”
One really easy way to dress up an outfit is by adding an awesome long cardigan or shawl. This outfit is perfect for every-day wear because it is fun yet simple.
I found this cardigan a couple of years ago on a shopping trip to LA – I bring it out when I want to be cozy but also to be noticed. Any piece that has great patterns, plaid or just bright colors is always a great way to dress up a plain black or dark colored outfit.
When you add great boots and leather look jeans it is fun and almost a little (as we say in England) Cheeky!
There are so many great long cardigans and plaid shawls out there, making it easy for you to recreate such a look. The key here is to find the one that is perfect for YOU!

“Not all girls dress up nicely to impress others, sometimes they do it for themselves. For Confidence.”
The Holiday Season is quickly approaching, and whether that means for you lots of shopping, family time, or fun parties or social gatherings, there is always time to make the most of yourself.
One of my sons likes to say that I have taught him an important lesson in life and that is “No matter what it is you are doing, make sure you look good doing it”…
There are definitely times that I dress down and wear sweats just to be comfortable, but most of the time, whenever I am going out (even to the store), I care what I look like. I don’t do this because I am worried what other people think, for me it has always been about making myself happy and I feel happy when I know I look good.
I am going to give some suggestions for a more casual look later this week, but for today’s post, I wanted to show you an idea for how you can dress up for a party or event and stand out from the crowd. The look is simple yet classy – adding the faux fur jacket and pearls really finishes off the look. It is really easy to recreate!

“It’s not happy people that are Thankful, it’s thankful people that are happy”
Whether you are going to spend Thanksgiving with your family, or you are staying at home and family are coming over, you are going to want to be wearing the right clothes for Thanksgiving.
This year I am cooking for my family – this means that during the morning I am going to probably wear sweat pants and a comfy shirt. As the meal is prepared, I am going to want to change into something a little dressier, yet still comfortable (I am still going to want to have room to eat the lovely meal that I have created)…
So, how do you pick what you are going to wear? Leggings or jeans and pants that are stretchy are a great option. You will want to add a loose fitting sweater or blouse and perhaps a pair of contrasting shoes.
These are just some ideas of outfits that you can wear for Thanksgiving…
Thanksgiving can be a long day, which could include driving to multiple destinations. Even though I know I will want to feel comfortable I don’t ever like to forego style for just comfort…but that’s just me.
I hope you have a wonderful Family and food filled Thanksgiving – I know I have plenty to feel Thankful for!

It’s Monday and here we are again, ready for another week at work. We spend more time working than we do at home, so it is very important to make sure that what you are wearing is something that makes you feel comfortable.
I am not a great morning person, so I always pick out what I am going to wear the night before. It gives me more time in bed, and also makes me start the day by not feeling so stressed about picking out an outfit.
When I am choosing what I am going to wear I like to put my work wear together in different combinations. Wearing a cute fitted sweater with a nice pair of tailored pants and a box jacket is a great look that is easy to recreate. Not every piece of clothing you wear, for work or for casual wear, needs to cost a fortune. I know a lot of magazines promote designer wear, which is great, but can be expensive and not realistic for everyone to buy.
The outfit shown here is an example of how you look classy without paying a fortune.
During the week I like to alternate the days when I wear skirts or dresses and pants so that I feel like I am not wearing the same kinds of clothes every day.
