Black on black is a great combination no matter the season, but do you know what is even better than black on black? Adding a pop of bright color – such as this great fuchsia pink!
While I am firm believer in expressing yourself however you feel is most appropriate for your own unique style, I do think it’s important to be willing to look and try new things. If you feel that you are not confident enough to wear the pink color as a stand alone, by adding an accent or “pop” of this color, it means that you are able to still remain true to yourself but also be a little more bold than usual. I know black is the universal color for many, many people, and I love it too…but I definitely like to add other colors as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to talk anyone out of wearing black, because there are so many reasons that black is great, such as: it is a very slimming color, it works for just about every occasion, it can really be sexy when you wear the right things, and finally, it is all about being comfortable in your own skin…and if black makes you feel that, then that is what you should do 🙂
What if you just added a small expression of your personality? What would that look like for you? Would you wear a pair of bold accent boots or shoes like I did in this post? Would you add a touch of leopard or gold? If you feel like a pair of shoes or boots is a little much, how about accessories? Would you wear a scarf, a funky necklace, or even a belt? Have you experimented with accessories?
Your confidence will only grow the more you are willing to expand your comfort zone and try new things…
Hiding behind certain colors or styles doesn’t enable you to fully express yourself, so why not add a touch of something more to help your confidence in yourself and how you look grow. I do believe that it is important to be bold, however, if you really don’t feel that you can “own” a look that you are trying, then you probably should start smaller. For example, I am wearing a full length faux fur leopard print coat today and I LOVE it…but not everyone could pull it off – not because not everyone would look good in it, but more because they have to believe it and not everyone is as bold as I am. I am definitely not the most extreme on the spectrum when it comes to being unique, but I certainly like to push boundaries and not everyone else feels the same way. Whatever you choose to wear or try out, believe that you look great and you will start to feel that!!
I believe that we all have a side of us that is just waiting to burst out, we just need to open the door 🙂
