When a Woman says “I have nothing to wear” what she really means is “There’s nothing here for who I’m supposed to be today.” – Caitlin Moran
Shirt dresses are a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe. They can be worn loose to create a more boxy style, and if worn that way, they work for just about any body type. If you want to dress them up, you can add a contrasting belt.
Every once in a while I like to pull out a great shirt dress. I particularly love the color of this dress…
If you do choose to wear a belt, just know that it is going to accentuate your waist. I have seen shirt dresses worn in so many ways, and one way I saw recently that I just love, is with a wider scarf as a belt. It was over a white dress and the scarf was bold colored and patterned.
I wanted to add some spice to this outfit, so I added a great pair of open toed booties. The great thing about these types of dresses is that they can definitely be worn for business (with more conservative heels) or for casual wear with flat booties or sneakers.
