Style your Fall

“Playing Dress up begins at five and never truly ends” – Kate Spade

One of the first things I think about as the weather becomes colder is “Yes!  I get to wear a whole different wardrobe of clothes.  I love this time of year because it is not too cold yet, but yet you can still add in layers and create amazing ensembles.

There are so many different things to consider when dressing for Fall…

It goes way beyond picking the shoes first.  You also have to consider, is it going to be too cold to have bare legs if you are wearing a skirt.  I tend to wait until it really is cold before I wear tights, unless of course they are the ones that have patterns with holes (like fishnets or such).

It is also best to wear multiple layers so that you can peel them off as the day goes on and gets warmer as it often does in the Fall.

I love to wear cool jackets, shawls or coats that are  a statement all by themselves.  I have recently fallen in love with some plaid shawls (like the one featured in todays post)…It is not too heavy yet it is warm enough and looks fantastic.  I found this piece in LA but I have seen lots of different stores that carry similar pieces.  You could even create your own look by just grabbing a long wool scarf and making your own shawl.

Layering in Style is one of favorite things to do.  You are almost creating two different outfits – one for outdoors and one for indoors.

Boots are always a great addition and these Vince Camuto booties are the perfect color for this outfit…
