Spring is here so today’s tip is focused with that in mind. It is too easy to stick with things that we have always done and not try new things…but if you truly want to explore fashion and find styles that work for you, that is going to require a little experimentation. Be on the look out for people wearing things that you like – it can be people you meet on the street, people you see on TV in shows, or even in magazines or in blogs. The main point is that you want to be looking for things that you can adapt to work for your body.
Don’t get caught up in what you think you should be wearing, there is not one style that is going to work for EVERYONE – we are all so unique and different.
When you see a style or trend that you like, the best thing to do is find something that is similar and try it on. If that is not possible, then take a look at that style and consider where it is fitted – does it fit the waist or hips snugly, or is the top tighter around the breasts? Once you have determined how it fits the person you see wearing it, then consider if that would work for you? If you are someone that doesn’t like to draw attention to a certain area of your body, that is very important when considering which clothes you can wear.
Finally, the most important detail is that you must carry yourself with style, grace and a smile…oh, and breathe. If you are so self-conscious about your outfit that you catch yourself holding your breath or just not feeling great about yourself, then that is not something you should be wearing!
